A good start for a tune is to write about someone you know. The consummate master of the personal narrative lyric must surely be Ray Davies of the Kinks. In the play list is a fine example, "Walter," from the Kinks are the Village Green Preservation Society.

Is it the end of season 5 or the start of season 6? Who knows? And frankly, who cares? Here's a selections of tunes that I didn't manage to squeeze into the last season of TUWSJ and some great tracks that have been on repeat in Johns Towers of late. Some particular favourites are "Falling in Love" by the American Spring, a version of "Lady" by Dennis Wilson, and one of many renditions of the haunting "Midnight Special" by Leadbelly, recorded by John and Alan Lomax.

Another good reason to hate Digiturk

With absolutely no thanks to digital TV provider Digiturk, we're back with the blog.

In short, a Turkish blogger was using blogspot to link to live coverage of Turkish football. Digiturk owns the broadcast rights to the Turkish premier league so of course they took out an injunction against all blogs.
