We've got the Blues this week, or rather a few different takes in the idea of the Blues. From the early jazz of the great Bix Beiderbecke, we run through some folk, some country and some good old bar room rock. We close the show with the first vinyl record I made, under the guise of Clearspot with Colm O'Ciosoig from My Bloody Valentine, taken from the actual vinyl.

Dance, dance, dance

This week, we examine the raison d'etre of rock and roll: the call to dance. And what better way to start of the programme but with a folk tune played by Bert Jansch and John Renbourn. Groovy.

Part one of the show is a hot shoe shuffle through some soul and disco tracks. In part two, we pogo and wreck to some punk and new wave. And then in part three, we do modern dance to some kosmiche from Germany and some alt rock from the US. A shout out to Alex this week and the closer is dedicated to Mrs Johns.

All or nothing

Another edition of the informal binary opposite theme. This week, it's all or nothing, inspired by the Small Faces tune of the same name. I was ill with the dinge this week, so I'm rather subdued. But I hope you enjoy the programme anyway.

East meets west

An actual bridge between east and west

The greatest cliche of them all: Istanbul is the city where East meets West. Whatever. But it is a good enough theme for a programme. If I had more time, I would have complied a programme that infuses Western sounds with an Eastern sensibility, or something like that. But I don't and I am also lazy. So here is a show with songs with east and west in the title.
